DESCRIPTION
SIOX-5 REPAINT is a mineral binder of silicate composition based on sol-gel technology developed by the Group of Chemistry for Cultural Heritage of the Department of Chemical Sciences of the University of Padua (Patent No. 0001370467).
HOW IT WORKS
The product contains a nanostructured and functionalised silica gel that can be used as a binder for powdered mineral colours. The liquid forms a silica matrix that incorporates pigment particles and binds to mineral surfaces. Its particular compatibility with natural earths and oxides makes it a valid solution for working on wall paints and frescoes outdoors, or for cold painting on ceramics, as it is more stable and durable than classic watercolour retouching.
